If you plan to translate without a reliable connection, prepare first. Kenning uses Apple Translation Framework for text translation and checks whether the selected language pair is supported and whether the required on-device translation languages are installed. For speech, install the speech recognition assets for the languages you want to speak or transcribe.

Conversation mode is for face-to-face situations where two people do not share the same language. Pick the two languages, record one side, and Kenning translates after the person finishes speaking. It can also play the translated result out loud.

Take a photo or import an image. Choose horizontal or vertical text if the layout needs it, then Kenning extracts the text and translates it.

For vertical writing, you can choose the column order, such as right-to-left or left-to-right, before OCR runs.
Video speech translation
Import a video from Photos. Kenning prepares the audio track, turns speech into text, and sends that text into translation.
Audio speech translation
